The BBC reported that Noel Fitzpatrick, a veterinary surgeon, performed the world's first cat prosthetic limbs operation. Dr. Fitzpatrick's pioneering work is explored in a BBC documentary called The Bionic Vet.

Many things happened last week. Pepper indulged himself in a much needed R&R Tahoe trip with his dog friends. Before our Tahoe getaway, we saw the beginnings of the wild blackberry season on a hike through the Presidio Park. And before that, I witnessed a rather disturbing incident while driving back from Alta Plaza Park. There was a yellow lab, lying off to the side of the road having a seizure.

I’ve been taking my 12-year old cat Ted to the vets at Mission Pet Hospital since he was a 2 month old kitten. My dog Vinnie is a patient there too. Although I’m on top of preventative care and regular check-ups, health matters inevitably arise from time to time with my critters.
