The Outrageously Fun, Pet Mayor Contest. Vote this weekend!
Politics can get downright dirty. If you think otherwise, I have three words for you: Scandal, Lies, and Flies. Let’s just brush over the first two words shall we, for fear of offending our young viewers. And flies? Well, if there’s one thing Obama should never do in a television interview is swat an innocent little fly. Just ask PETA.
Mud slinging paws aside, one race we should all whole heartedly support is a great cause like the Montclair Pet & Wildlife Fund's most popular fund-raising event: The Pet Mayor Contest. This election is outrageously fun – just read some of the candidate’s campaign slogan.
The seven canines plus one desert tortoise are serious about claiming the coveted mayoral title. I’m sure all these candidates are highly qualified and deserving of the top spot. All they want is a chance. And your vote. Every dollar buys you a vote [Disclaimer: ballot stuffing is absolutely encouraged] and all proceeds are tax deductible. You can drop by the Montclair Veterinary Hospital’s ballot box during regular hours or vote online.
Last year, the Montclair Veterinary Hospital raised $15,000 for its Pet and Wildlife Fund which helps injured wildlife and pets in need. The Montclair Veterinary Hospital is a wonderful community institution, which by the way was recognized by Oakland Magazine, East Bay Express and KRON4 TV as best veterinarian hospital. If you even have an ounce of interest in politics (and who doesn’t these days?) vote this weekend!

About InCirclePets.com: We highlight locally-owned pet businesses, non-profits and organizations as well as pet-friendly activities. We think the Bay Area is an amazing spot in which to have an animal, yet we know that many hidden gems go unnoticed and local spots may not get the attention they deserve. We hope to fill in this gap. If you think we could be doing things better, send us an email . Click here to learn more about us.
