That Takes The Cake! Stop by this Great Dog-Friendly Pacific Heights Bakery

I'll admit, I am completely crazy for cupcakes, but it takes a pretty good cupcake to impress me these days, and if you want the best cupcakes in San Francisco, That Takes The Cake is pretty much where you need to go. Now, it's one thing to have a special go-to place for cupcakes, but recently I've discovered that not only are they the tastiest and most addictive in town, but That Takes The Cake is a 100% dog friendly establishment.

The thing about this little bakery is that it's a Mom and Pop that has really taken off in a big way, but they still stick to their guns in terms of keeping the small, friendly feel both to their baked goods and to their bakery. They rotate certain flavors in and out on certain days so that you have an opportunity to try different things, and they even have a few seasonal flavors to spice up various holidays.

My recent discovery is their cocktail cupcakes, and more specifically their cocktail cupcake happy hour on Saturday evenings. With flavors like pina colada and fuzzy navel, you're bound to find something you like, and of course you'll want to take some home with you.

There's not a lot of seating at this bakery, just a couple of tables on the sidewalk, but if you stop by while walking your dog and find that one of the tables is free, they'll welcome you and your pooch with open arms. Beware though - sitting down so near to those gorgeous cupcakes can be hazardous to your waistline!
